The James Library & Center for the Arts celebrates the 2018-19 concert season with an outstanding and diverse combination of classical, jazz, and Celtic performances. This year’s concert calendar will also include two “free” Sunday afternoon classical performances as we launch the “Weekend Classics Encore” series. We’re supporting the “Music for Food” initiative to fight hunger in our local communities and celebrating the inception of our concert series as 2019 marks the 25th anniversary of the purchase of the Steinway piano and the start of music programming at the James!

Meadowlark Trio
New England Conservatory Artist Fellows representing “Music for Food”
Sunday, November 11th at 3:00
The first of two free “Weekend Classics Encore” series performances. These gifted musicians were chosen to represent “Music for Food” this season as they perform for free asking audience members to make donations, in lieu of purchasing tickets, that will be donated to a South Shore food pantry of our choosing. I was considering Interfaith Social Services in Quincy whose outreach focuses on hunger, mental health and emergency assistance. Music for Food is a musician-led initiative to fight hunger in our local communities. Performances transform music into food, nourishing ears and bodies. Now embarking on its 8th season in Boston, Music for Food was founded by Grammy award winning violist Kim Kashkashian in 2010.
